I would like to take this time to introduce myself and welcome you to your child’s Kindergarten class! My name is Mrs. L. Rodriguez and I will have the privilege to be your child’s teacher this school year.
This school year will be filled with a variety of learning experiences
for both you and your child. Kindergarten has a demanding and important
curriculum and your involvement is critical to your child’s progress.
In order to help your child be successful at school please be sure they
have all of the necessary supplies daily. Every child has to have a Blue
Communication Folder (available at the school store located in the
cafeteria for $2.00). This is where I will be sending the Home-Learning
Assignments, “Busy Bee” daily behavior chart, and other important
notices. Be sure to check your child’s folder daily.
School attendance is critical to your child’s educational, cognitive and social development. If your child has a valid excuse for their absence a note must be sent upon their return including their name, reason for the absence, date and parent’s signature. Furthermore, bringing your child on time fosters responsibility and helps start the day on the right track. If your child arrives after the bell rings at 8:30 am we kindly ask that you obtain a tardy slip in the main office. Dismissal is at 2:00 pm sharp.
I have the privilege of offering to your children the Extended Foreign Language Program. The EFL Program refers to a program delivery system offered at the elementary level which follows the same organization as a Bilingual School except that it is only offered in selected classes per grade level and is for one hour a day. The EFL Program emphasizes the teaching of language arts and reading within the classroom in Spanish.
Finally, I want to share with you that this year will be a fun and exciting time for your child. It will provide your child with the necessary foundation for future academic success. I believe that together we can make this a fulfilling and successful year for your child! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to send me a note in your child’s folder or e-mail me at email@example.com.
