Welcome to Fifth Grade and another year at Kendale Elementary School! Fifth Grade is a very crucial year in your child’s life. Not only is it their last year at an elementary school, but the results of your child’s FSA scores in April will have a direct affect on his/her placement for next school year.
I have very high expectations for students in my classroom, in regards to academics and behavior. Positive reinforcement is an important aspect in my classroom. I use several different types, which allow me to recognize and reward individuals as well as the class. I will discuss the expectations of student behavior in our school and the behavior management system utilized in our classroom with your child.
Students will be assigned homework every night (Monday through Friday). Students have regular homework assignments each night, including nightly reading. Please know that I am trying to enable students to be responsible. Therefore, late homework assignments/projects will NOT be accepted.
In closing, I encourage you to fully embrace the moment and urge you to take the time from your busy schedule to become familiar with our school, as well as create a homework-friendly home environment that will allow your children to excel. Please make sure to sign up for our Shutterfly account(information will be sent home on how to sign up).
Thank you for your commitment to your child's education and I look forward
to seeing you in the very near future.
