School Clubs

To further our mission, Kendale Elementary offers a variety of extra-curricular clubs for our students to join and are offered to as many students as possible. Some clubs are open to all students while enrollment in others is by invitation or audition. Most clubs require a teacher recommendation before a student may join.
As with any school function, appropriate behavior and effort is required to continue with any of the programs. Continuous attendance is required so the student can gain the most benefit from the programs.

Students who are in the After School Care program can participate in the following clubs.

Future Educators of America (FEA) -Advisor: Ms. Vila
4th and 5th Grade students are made aware of the rewards of teaching and career opportunities available in teaching, early in their school experiences by working with teachers in their classrooms.

Jump Rope Club: TBA
This after-school activity that promotes active physical fitness. Students in grades 2 - 5 are selected to participate in school demonstrations and county-wide competitions. Teams A, B, and C practice everyday and when they perform, keep the Kendale Family surprised, amused, and on their toes!

Student Council
Beginning in 3rd grade, Student Council members are selected in August by their classmates and their classroom teachers. They then continue on through 4th and 5th grades. In 5th grade they can become an officer as well. Our goal is to improve our school. We participate in canned food drives, and other activities to serve the community. They can work independently and are responsible. They should have a "1" in effort and an "A" in conduct as they are representing their class and should be role models for others.

Chorus
The students in chorus meet every Wednesday to sing. They prepare for various shows that take place in the school and throughout the community. The chorus sometimes incorporate playing marimba-type instruments in their performances, adding a unique flare.

ENLACE /Children’s Trust
Enlace is a two-hour after school program funded by the Children's Trust in cooperation with Kendale Elementary and Fit Kids! Enlace promotes student reading achievement through technology (Reading Plus), home learning enrichment, and fitness. Students have one hour of after school tutoring and one hour of a diverse fitness instruction that includes Karate, Salsa Dancing, Aerobics, Team Sports, and Group Games.

Oratorical Team
The Oratorical Team is comprised of students in grades two through five. They perform oratorical essays, poems, and writing by authors of note in school-based and district-wide competitions. Our team has grown to 24 participants over the last few years.

Future Teachers of America
FEA is an organization that encourages elementary students to explore the field of teaching. Our dedicated students assist teachers in classrooms, aid community projects (recycling), and promote positive images to schoolmates.
